Kim and I traveled to Sonoma last week, to photograph the sweetest couple-- Nicole and Cass. They chose the amazing Cornerstone Gardens as the setting for the shoot-- eclectic, modern, interesting, and beautiful-- words that could describe both the gardens and Nicole and Cass.
N: Nicole looked so darn cute in this dress! Kim and I snapped this moment at the same time...
K: These are the first few shots, and this is always the part of the session when the couple is feeling a little silly because they are not quite sure what to expect.
What I love about these shots is Nicole is still feeling a little shy about the whole process, and we used that to our advantage. I love how she cuddles right into Cass for shelter.

One of the many interesting places at Cornerstone is Artifact Design and Salvage-- an absolute treasure trove of goodies! These doors are just the beginning...

N: When we saw these roller coaster cars, we knew we just had to use them!
K: This area was really cool. Nicole and Cass played along with the old time retro look of it all.

N: We pried ourselves away from the salvage place to explore the unique grounds of the gardens.
K: There is nothing cooler than industrial elements in nature. Throw in some human contact and it is magic.

K: KISSES! We love when people kiss.

K: "Oh yea that's my woman." When I posed this shot that is what I told Cass to think. Ha ha ha.

N: One of the greatest things about Nicole and Cass is that they just can't keep their hands off each other! And they look good doin' it!

Next we took over the barn. We love barns!

K: These two are so sweet with each other.

N: I could not get enough of these burlap covered hills. I felt like we were in the desert. An itchy, lint-y desert. Good thing Nicole brought a lint brush!

We had such a beautiful time with Nicole and Cass in these gardens. Sometimes our sessions are a whirlwind of running around, and breaking rules. The experience we had with Nicole and Cass was so calm and peaceful. Walking through these gardens and shooting in all these unique spaces put us in a very Zen state of mind. We loved it. Thank you Cass and Nicole for being the wonderful people you are. We are looking forward to spending your wedding day with you.Much Love.

Wow! It's so fun to see these pictures from our wonderful afternoon with Kim and Niki! I hate having my picture taken and I was nervous that I'd sabotage the whole thing by being uncomfortable in front of the camera. As soon as we started with Kim and Niki, I was having fun and immediately felt at ease with them. Cass and I felt like we could really be ourselves and I think that comes across. I love these pictures and just loved my whole experience. I know our wedding day will go that much smoother because of them. Thank you, Kim & Niki! xo nicole
